JUNE 1st, 2013!
Artlantis is an all day summer festival that takes place on the lawn of Druid Hills Baptist Church. Unlike other Atlanta festivals, Artlantis is unique in that it exclusively showcases art and music from local talent.
It’s hard for us to believe that we’ve already made it to 5 years. We started Artlantis for the same reason we started Beep Beep Gallery: to showcase and encourage the work of local emerging artists. By creating a festival, we hope to not only expose visitors to a section of the Atlanta art scene that they wouldn’t usually encounter at most summer festivals, but alternatively to expose the artists to a larger audience they may not normally encounter in their day to day.
In previous years, we increased the booths from 20 to 50 and added more food vendors. We also doubled our attendance from 700 to almost 1500. This year, we’re already planning more ways to increase our visibility as well as the overall quality of the festival.
Applications closed May 10th.
